an Ice Barrier is required from the lowest edges of all roof surfaces to a point at least 24 inches inside the exterior wall line of the building measured on a horizontal plane. Additionally, it is required to be installed in all valleys. Exception: Roofs that are 8 inches vertical to 12 inches horizontal or greater only require a single 36” row of ice barrier along the eaves and within all valleys as typical.
